Canon ersetzt mit der EOS-1D X Mark II pünktlich zu den kommenden olympischen Spielen das bisherige Spitzenmodell. Die neue Sportkanone bietet eine Serienbildrate von bis zu 16 Fotos pro Sekunde, einen verbesserten Autofokus und ist in der Lage, Videos in 4K-Auflösung mit bis zu 60 fps aufzuzeichnen. Ähnlich wie die kürzlich vorgestellte Nikon D5 wendet sich die EOS-1D X Mark II vor allem an Sport- und Reportagefotografen. Die Canon EOS-1D X Mark II wird ab Mai 2016 für etwa 6300 Euro erhältlich sein.

Spätestens, wenn im August die Olympischen Spiele 2016 eröffnet werden, benötigen Sportfotografen aus aller Welt eine Kamera, die den Ereignissen gerecht wird. Die will Canon nun mit der EOS-1D X Mark II liefern, die im Vergleich zur Vorgängerin gründlich aufgefrischt wurde. Geblieben ist es bei einem Bildsensor mit 20,2 Megapixel. Er wurde allerdings neu entwickelt, bietet eine maximale Empfindlichkeit von ISO 51.200 und ist der erste Kleinbildsensor von Canon, der mit „Dual Pixel CMOS AF“ aufwarten kann. Er soll der Kamera mit seinen Phasen-AF-Zellen auf dem Bildwandler im Live-View-Modus zu einer standesgemäßen AF-Leistung verhelfen.

Bei der EOS-1D X Mark II setzt Canon vor allem auf Geschwindigkeit. Sie ermöglicht eine Serienbildrate von 14 fps (16 fps im Live-View-Modus) und nimmt dabei bis zu 170 RAW-Dateien in einem Rutsch auf. Dazu benötigt sie allerdings sehr schnelle CFast-Speicherkarten, die mit herkömmlichen CF-Karten nicht kompatibel sind. Auch der Autofokus soll schneller und zuverlässiger arbeiten, er basiert nun auf 61 Sensoren von denen 41 als Kreuzsensoren ausgeführt sind.

Großen Wert legt Canon offenbar auf die Videofähigkeiten der EOS-1D X Mark II. Die Kamera zeichnet 4K-Video (4096 x 2160) mit bis zu 60 fps auf, auch auf eine interne CFast-Karte. Aus dem Videostream lassen sich Standbilder mit einer Auflösung von rund 8,8 Megabyte extrahieren.

Krefeld, 2. Februar 2016. Mit der EOS-1D X Mark II stellt Canon heute das mit Spannung erwartete neue Flaggschiff der EOS Serie vor. Diese Kamera kombiniert exzellente Bildqualität und hohe Auflösung mit enormer Geschwindigkeit. Speziell dafür konzipiert, dem Fotografen den entscheidenden Wettbewerbsvorteil zu geben, setzt die EOS-1D X Mark II insbesondere in Bezug auf Geschwindigkeit völlig neue Maßstäbe. Mit Reihenaufnahmen von bis zu 14 Bildern pro Sekunde bei voller AF/AE Nachführung oder 16 Bildern pro Sekunde im Live View Modus ist sie ideal zum Fotografieren von sich extrem schnell bewegenden Motiven in freier Wildbahn oder bei Sportveranstaltungen. Die EOS-1D X Mark II ist voraussichtlich ab Mai 2016 zum Preis von 6299* im Fachhandel verfügbar.

Die Entwicklung der EOS-1D X Mark II basiert auf dem Feedback von EOS-1D X Fotografen aus der ganzen Welt. So bietet sie nun einen 20,2 Megapixel Vollformat-CMOS-Sensor, den neu entwickelten Al Servo AF III+ sowie die Möglichkeit, 4K-Videos mit 60 Bildern pro Sekunde (60p) aufzuzeichnen. Dieses Zusammenspiel von Spitzen-Funktionen und -Leistungen macht die Kamera zu einem unersetzlichen Begleiter für nahezu alle professionellen Fotografen – unabhängig von ihrer Spezialisierung.

Bildqualität und AF-Präzision – neu definiert

Mit einem überaus umfangreichen ISO-Bereich von 100-51.200, der von 50 bis zu 409.600 erweiterbar ist, überzeugt die EOS-1D X Mark II bei allen Lichtbedingungen –bis zur fast vollständigen Dunkelheit.

Das optimierte 61-Punkt-AF-System mit 41 Dual-Kreuzsensoren, das einen weiten Bildbereich abdeckt und bei bis zu -3 LW fokussiert, sorgt dafür, dass jede Aufnahme mit einzigartiger Präzision festgehalten wird. Erstmalig ermöglicht das neue AF-System Aufnahmen mit bestimmten Extender/Teleobjektiv-Kombinationen mit geringer Gesamtlichtstärke, denn alle 61 AF-Felder sind nun bis Lichtstärke 1:8 aktiv – das vermittelt eine große Freiheit bei der Auswahl des AF-Punktes. Neben den beliebten professionellen AF-Technologien wie EOS iTR oder den AF Case Einstellungen, bietet die EOS-1D X Mark II den neuen AI Servo AF III+, der die Nachführempfindlichkeit in solchen Szenen verbessert, bei denen sich ein Motiv häufig ganz plötzlich bewegt – was beispielsweise bei Tieren in der freien Wildbahn häufig vorkommt.

In enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem AF-System ermöglicht der neue RGB+IR Messsensor mit 360.000 effektiven Pixeln eine präzise Fokussierung sowie eine verbesserte Motiverkennung. Die in der EOS 7D Mark II erstmalig eingeführte Technologie zur Flacker-Erkennung sorgt für konstante Belichtungsergebnisse bei frequenzmoduliertem Kunstlicht – perfekt für Indoor-Sportveranstaltungen.

Jede Sekunde festhalten

Die EOS-1D X Mark II hat die Grenzen für Highspeed-Aufnahmen gesprengt. Sie ist in der Lage, Reihenaufnahmen mit bis zu 14 Bildern pro Sekunde bei voller AF/AE Nachführung in RAW-Auflösung aufzunehmen. Damit versetzt sie den Fotografen in die Lage, exakt den einen perfekten Moment festzuhalten – sei es bei einer Sportveranstaltung oder einem Tier bei der Jagd nach Beute. Und wenn noch mehr Geschwindigkeit erforderlich ist, lassen sich im Live View Modus bis zu 16 Bilder pro Sekunde aufnehmen, bei denen dann die Fokussierung des ersten Bildes beibehalten wird. Die neue Kompatibilität mit CFast 2.0™ Speicherkarten ermöglicht die Aufzeichnung einer unbegrenzten Anzahl von JPEGs bzw. 170 RAWs bei voller Serienbildgeschwindigkeit.

Die EOS-1D X Mark II ist die EOS DSLR mit dem bisher schnellsten Ansprechverhalten. Dafür ist unter anderem der neue Dual DIGIC 6+ Prozessor verantwortlich, der eine Highspeed-Verarbeitung der vom Sensor erfassten hohen Datenmenge ermöglicht. Die noch weiter verbesserte Spiegelkonstruktion setzt einen neuen Antriebsmechanismus ein, der derartig schnelle Reihenaufnahmen mit minimalsten Spiegelerschütterungen oder Geräuschen ermöglicht.

4K-Videos in Profi-Qualität aufzeichnen

Die Canon Erfahrung bei 4K-Videoaufnahmen hält nun auch bei der EOS-1D X Mark II Einzug. Damit haben die Filmemacher die Möglichkeit, 4K-Aufnahmen (4.096 x 2.160 Pixel) mit verschiedenen Bildraten und mit bis zu 60 Bildern pro Sekunde auf der CFast 2.0™ Speicherkarte aufzuzeichnen. Full-HD-Videos (1.920 x 1.080 Pixel) können mit einer enormen Bildrate von 120 Bildern pro Sekunde aufgenommen werden – ideal für Szenen, die in Zeitlupe festgehalten werden sollen. Aus solchen 4K-Videos mit 60 Bildern pro Sekunde lassen sich ganz einfach Einzelbilder mit einer Auflösung von 8,8 Megapixeln extrahieren – dies steigert die Chance, den richtigen Bruchteil einer Sekunde im Bild festzuhalten.

Die Canon Dual Pixel CMOS AF Technologie mit Movie Servo AF ermöglicht den schnellen und kontinuierlichen AF bei 4K- und Full-HD-Videoaufnahmen. Über das Touchscreen-Display kann zudem während der Videoaufnahme der AF-Punkt per Fingertipp definiert werden.

Premium-Bildmanagement und -Zuverlässigkeit

Die Kamera bietet dem Profi die nötigen Tools, um Aufnahmen zu organisieren und in Sekundenschnelle an Nachrichtenagenturen oder andere Kunden zu übertragen. Über den integrierten GPS-Empfänger werden die EXIF Bilddaten mit den entsprechenden Standortdaten versehen, so dass der Profi einen exakten Überblick über die Aufnahmen hat. Die Übertragung erfolgt wahlweise über die integrierte LAN-Schnittstelle oder über Superspeed USB 3.0 – auf einen FTP-Server oder direkt auf einen Computer. Zudem bietet der neue Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E8¹ die WLAN-Anbindung mit Highspeed-Standard 802.11ac (5 GHz Band).

Als Inbegriff der EOS Designsprache wurden bei der EOS-1D Mark II sowohl der Griff als auch die Bedienelemente optimiert. Dadurch liegt sie gut in der Hand und bietet ein exzellentes Handling. Der zuverlässige Witterungsschutz schützt die Kamera vor Umwelteinflüssen und macht sie ideal für den Einsatz unter freiem Himmel. Der Intelligent Viewfinder II bietet ein Bildfeld von nahezu 100 Prozent. Durch die Möglichkeit zur Einblendung der Aufnahmesituationen, muss der Fotograf das Auge nicht vom Sucher nehmen.
